Outbound Bulk Voice Calls

The most widely used Cloud Telephony Service in the world is Outbound Voice Call, also known as Bulk Voice Calling, Reminder Service etc. The operation remains same while its used with many ways, to cater to many purposes. Few of the variants are known as Auto-Dialer where its used in call center and connect to a human agent.

The process remains the same. An outbound call is triggered either manually, automatically or with some logic and when the called number is connected, either a message is played and disconnected or another call is made to a call center executive and both get connected. In some other outbound bulk voice calls, the called party is requested to choose some option and depending on her choice, some further task is performed.

Bulk Voice Calling can be implemented easily. All it has to do is, pick up a telephone number from database, dial out the number and on connection, play a pre-recorded audio file. In other configuration, it can dial out another number and patch these two calls.

All cloud telephony service providers have bulk voice calling solution and capacity of any provider depends on their number of PRI lines installed. Apart from TDM, VoIP ( Voice Over IP protocol) can also be used for making bulk voice calling. When VoIP is used, normally pricing becomes competitive and the quality of voice, DTMF detection may be compromised. Using TDM is costly, but performs better. Using VoIP may not be allowed in certain countries.

Using VOIP may be advantageous for cloud telephony service provider as they can scale up quickly while DTM circuit installation may take some time.

Reminder service or alert service is gaining popularity as it gives much better reporting or delivery of the message can be ensured/tracked. One may open SMS ( Short Messaging Service), but not read, just delete it. But in bulk voice call, one can make a informed decision based on call connection, duration of the call whether called number has listened to the message or not. The accuracy of such report would be higher than SMS.

Another advantage over SMS or EMail is, these messages could be delivered to landline number and no one requires internet connection to get reminded or alerted.

With wearable gears and penetration of mobile phones, most probably, bulk voice calling would be less intrusive and will have better experience. ‘
