IVR as competition to multiple SIM Mobile Phones

In old days, people used to have visiting cards with a telephone number with PP written next to it, in India. While I am not sure what this PP actually stands for, but it meant that, the person may not pick up the phone, but can be reached if h/her name was told and asked to come to the phone.

And now days have when, when people carry a mobile phone with multiple SIM cards or multiple Mobile Numbers! With advent and penetration of Mobile phones, getting a personal phone number has become the easiest thing, where most of the time, the SIM card and number can be purchased with less than a dollar in India.

And with low cost Chinese phone with facility to put multiple SIM in single mobile phone, people started carrying multiple mobile number. And even high end Smatphones now a days have facility to put more than one phone, more reason to get multiple mobile numbers!

But, availability of low cost mobile phones with multiple SIM capability is not the sole reason why people do carry multiple mobile phone or SIM cards. It has other reasons as follows:-

Switch off facility in Mobile Phone
Well, its a plausible excuse that mobile battery may drain even if some one wants to switch off his mobile when one wishes not to be disturbed, at some particular time of the day, say after office hours, while in a lunch with some one special!
But then one still requires contact number for emergencies of close family members, relatives even during those hours! So carry another SIM number which is circulated among family, close relatives or group of friends with clear instructions of usage!

While one gets rid of annoyance/disturbance by switching off phone phones, but it may result in losing serious business enquiry as well as adverse impression on the business.

Well, with Virtual Receptionist service using IVR features, one can attend to all incoming calls, filter them and still keeping ones personal number private from business callers!

So, if business people starts using Virtual Receptionist service from Niche Tech Solutions at an affordable rate, I think, these multi-SIM Mobile phones will face serious threat!

Thanks Sushim for the feedback. Thanks to pesky callers, people now a days are reluctant to give out personal direct number. This will be an effective tool to counter that.

It really a good concept to differentiate official and private calls. Many people who facing problem may get help from it. Good concept.

I think, you may like to Ozonetel or any other Cloud Telephony Service provider who has infrastructure ( PRI ) lines in Mumbai. They should be able to provide you an IVR on your mobile number.
